Sürdürülebilirlik, hızla yok olan kaynakların bilincinde ortaya çıkan gerek bireysel gerekse sektörel açıdan açılımları olan bir kavram.
Geçmiş pratiklerle artık sürdürülemez bir duruma gelen aynı zamanda turizme de kaynak teşkil eden doğal ve kültürel değerler, sürdürülebilirlik kavramını ivedilikle hayatlarımıza ve temsil ettiğimiz sektörel faaliyet alanlarına entegrasyonunu zorunlu kılmakta. Bu inançla 2019 yılında Uluslararası Sürdürülebilir Turizm Derneği’ni (USTUD) kurduk.

Uluslararası Sürdürülebilir Turizm Derneği, sürdürülebilir turizm hedefine yönelik olarak sektör ittifak modellerine büyük önem veren, bu bağlamda bünyesinde sektörde deneyim sahibi akademisyen, iş insanı, kamu temsilcisi ve sivil toplum profesyonellerine yer veren bir sivil toplum kuruluşudur.

In the start-up phase, to determine USTUD’s institutional position and areas of activity, a team of experts conducted research on the global needs and gaps in the tourism sector, especially in the field of sustainable tourism. USTUD determined its fields of activity accordingly.

Uluslararası Sürdürülebilir Turizm Derneği olarak faaliyet alanımız, özellikle turizmde sürdürülebilirlik kavramın görünür kılınması ve kapasite artımıdır. Derneğimiz doğal ve kültürel kaynakların parçalanamaz bir bütünlük içinde bulunduğuna, sürdürülebilir turizmin ancak kişisel sorumluluk ile kolektif sorumluluğunun kaynaşmasıyla mümkün olacağına inanarak ve turizm sektörünün de küresel bir olgu olduğu bilincinde çalışmalarını

We believe that sustainability is the future of tourism, and we have to act responsible for the transformation of our industry.

Sustainability is a concept with both individual and sectoral implications that emerged in the awareness of rapidly disappearing resources.
Natural and cultural values, which have become unsustainable due to past practices, and which also constitute a source for tourism, make it imperative to integrate the concept of sustainability into our lives and the sectoral fields of activity we represent. With this belief, we founded the International Sustainable Tourism Association (USTUD) (USTUD) in 2019 in İzmir, Türkiye.

International Sustainable Tourism Association, which attaches great importance to sector alliance models towards the goal of sustainable tourism, is a civil society organization that consists of tourism professionals, academicians,
businesspeople and public representatives.

As the International Sustainable Tourism Association, our field of activity is to increase the awareness of sustainability especially in tourism and to contribute for capacity building. Our association believes that natural and cultural resources exist in an indivisible integrity, that sustainable tourism can only be achieved through the fusion of both personal and collective responsibility.
